Knockengorroch World Ceilidh

Added: 12th Feb 2014    Category: Case Studies

Beginning in 1998, Knockengorroch now attracts people from all over Scotland, the UK, and beyond, and have acted as an inspiration for several other festivals in Dumfries and Galloway, and further afield.

Originally held at Knockengorroch Farm in Galloway, festivals have also been held in the Forest of Ae near Dumfries, and Talnotry near Newton Stewart.

Why did they choose Skiddle?

Before approaching Skiddle the festival had sold tickets offline and via a telephone sales line and as the festival grew this became increasingly difficult to manage. They decided to approach Skiddle to make the ticket sales process easier for the customer and for themselves.

They also wanted to use an entry management solution for both staffing and customer entry to maintain event security and maximise revenues.

How we helped Knockengorroch:

  • Ticket Sales
  • White Label
  • Facebook Ticket Shop
  • RapidScan
  • Editorial Content

Tickets were sold through Skiddle.com, a white-label ticket shop on the Knockengorroch website and via a Facebook ticket shop.

All tickets had RapidScan barcodes and a multi-gate scanning solution with wifi communications was in use on the weekend of the festival.

How Knockengorroch benefitted from using Skiddle:

As they’d not previously used an online ticket service, they felt it was really important that they selected an established ticket outlet that would be able to hit the ground running and allow them to concentrate on organising and promoting the festival.

What they said:

“Skiddle is an easy and straightforward system to use. This is our first year with Skiddle but I’m really impressed with their approach, it’s great to have a partner onboard that can be left to get on with it, whilst we know there’s an account manager on the other end of the phone to help out when needed.” Kath Homes Knockengorroch C.I.C.
