Publishing and Linking to FacebookAdded: 12th Sep 2011
Category: Social MediaPromoting your events across the biggest social networking platforms is essential if you want maximum exposure and ticket sales.
Luckily, Skiddle can now help you instantly connect with Facebook and Twitter at the click of a button!
Since launching our integration with Facebook events, this new tool has proved to be extremely popular. By linking your events, you can benefit from having your event listed on the UK's busiest What's On Guide (that's us!) and connecting with the social features of Facebook.
It's simple:
1) You tell us which of your events on Facebook corresponds with your event on Skiddle.
HOW: Log into your promotion centre at http://www.skiddle.com/promotion/, go to 'Get Listed' then beside your event, click the Facebook Icon. Alternatively, click on the event, and select the Facebook option from the left menu.
2) We remember this connection (this makes NO changes to your Facebook event)
3) When somebody RSVPs to your event on Facebook, we'll then automatically add them to the "Who's Going" list on Skiddle. This not only makes your event look very popular and helps other visitors identify friends that may be going, but it also helps your event move up the rankings in Skiddle (many results are ordered by popularity). NOTE: This can take up to 3 hours to update
4) There is no work for yourself, apart from initially linking the two events, which is very simple. We keep the "Who's Going" list on Skiddle up-to-date by querying your Facebook attending list every few hours (as long as your event has a public RSVP list, which most do).
5) If you haven't yet created your Facebook event, you can save yourself time by using the 'Export event to Facebook' feature. This creates a brand new Facebook event for you, with yourself as the owner, using all the details you entered on Skiddle, then links the two as above. You're free to edit the Facebook event however you wish, invite people as you usually would, etc and we will keep your "going to" list on Skiddle up-to-date as above.
We recommend linking all your Skiddle events to Facebook events, as this is a fantastic way of boosting event exposure and ticket sales for free!
Please note that we never make any changes to your Facebook events - we simply read the RSVP list which is publicly available.
